Often permit-free at the rear
A rear dormer is often permit-free when it stays at least 0.5 metre from the roof edges, is no higher than 1.75 metres and has a flat roof. A front dormer usually requires a permit.
Protected townscapes in Amsterdam and Haarlem have stricter requirements. We check your address against the environmental plan and give you the result in writing before you sign.
If a permit is required, we provide drawings and structural justification for the changes to the roof structure and handle the application.
